OCADU Job Posting: Scholarly Communications Librarian/Digital Projects Curator (One-Year Contract)

OCADU is currently seeking candidates for the following exciting position:

OCAD University is the proud recipient of the 2015 OCULA New Librarian Residency Award, enabling the Dorothy H. Hoover Library to offer a contract position for a librarian who has graduated between May 2013 and August 2015. The OCULA New Librarian Residency position will be the resident’s first experience working as a professional librarian. The resident will be required to provide two reports to the OCULA Council and will be an ex-officio member of the OCULA Council during their residency.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the University Librarian, the Scholarly Communications Librarian/Digital Projects Curator is responsible for planning and promoting a scholarly communications program in consultation with the Director of Research Services and other stakeholders. Utilizing the capacity of the University’s new Institutional Repository (IR) http://openresearch.ocadu.ca, the Scholarly Communications Librarian/Digital Projects Curator will support digital projects that liberate and showcase cultural assets and that preserve and openly disseminate the scholarly outputs of OCAD U graduate students, faculty and researchers.

Spring Business Meeting Update

Our Spring Business Meeting is fast approaching! As previously announced, the meeting will take place on Friday, June 26th at 2pm in Studio 408 of 401 Richmond (at the Southeast corner of Richmond St. and Spadina Ave., Toronto). We will begin there with the business portion of the meeting, followed by a tour of selected gallery and studio spaces within the building. For those who have yet to visit 401 Richmond, it is an absolute hub of cultural activity and should make for a fun and fascinating afternoon. Refreshments will be provided during the business meeting.

Walk-ins are, of course, welcome but if you know in advance that you will be attending, please RSVP to treasurer.arlisna.ontario@gmail.com. We will also be set up with Skype for anyone who would like to participate remotely. Also, please let us know if there are any points you might like to add to the business agenda.
