Call for Nominations for 2014 ARLIS/NA Ontario Vice-Chair

The ARLIS/NA Ontario Executive Committee is looking for members of ARLIS/NA Ontario who would like to serve on the 2014 Executive as Vice-Chair. A full description of the responsibilities of this Executive position can be found under the Chapter’s Bylaws which can be accessed here: http://arlison.org/about/bylaws/
Please note the Terms of Office: The Vice-Chair position is a three year commitment. In 2014, the position is Vice-Chair. In 2015, the position moves to Chair of the Executive, and in 2016 the position becomes ex-officio.If you are interested in nominating yourself or another member of ARLIS/NA Ontario, please contact Chapter Chair, Melissa Bruno, at Melissa.bruno@sympatico.ca. The deadline for nominations is Monday, December 2nd at 5 PM.

Once all the nominations have been received, the ARLIS/NA Ontario membership will vote on the candidates electronically via an anonymous ballot on SurveyMonkey.

2013 Fall Business Meeting Details

Join us for our ARLIS/NA Ontario Fall Business Meeting on Friday, November 15th 2013. We will be joined by a special guest speaker, Sarah Angel, PhD Candidate, University of Toronto, where she will give us a pre-launch demonstration of a cutting edge, innovative resource called “Online Canadian Art Books Project.”

The Business Portion of the meeting will be held from 11 AM until 12:30 PM at Terrazza located at 372 Harbord St (Harbord and Ossington), Toronto, Ontario.

The meeting fee will be $20 for members, and $30 for non-members.  Lunch is included in the meeting fee, and will be served from 12:30 PM – 2 PM

After the Business meeting and Luncheon, members are welcome to join us on a west-end art crawl featuring some of Toronto’s esteemed contemporary art galleries, bookstores, and an artist-run contemporary art centre for artists books, video, audio, multiples, and other multiple media artworks. You are welcome to accompany the Chapter Executive while we visit the venues provided below; however, we will also encourage you to explore them at your own pace should you want to stay a little longer at one, or fast track and advance to another. Consider this a mere guideline to help direct you on a walking tour of some of Toronto’s esteemed contemporary art galleries and bookstores, as well as an artist-run contemporary art centre for artists books, video, audio, multiples, and other multiple media artworks. Comfortable shoes are advised!
